Patterns
Finite Differences to Generalize a Rule

Lesson Description

Students learn to use finite differences to write an equation that represents the x and y data in a given table. The equation is always y = the multiplier times x + the base. Note that the multiplier is the change in y over the change in x, and the base is the value of y when x = 0.
