Algebra 2: Lesson 079

Radical Equations
Advanced Equations

Lesson Description

Students learn to solve square root equations by first isolating the square root, then squaring both sides of the equation. Note that in this lesson, once both sides of the equation have been squared, the result will be a polynomial equation, so remember the rules for solving polynomial equations: set the equation equal to zero, then factor. Finally, check each solution in the original equation. If a solution does not check, then it is not a solution to the equation.
