Solving Systems by Addition

Lesson Description

Students learn to solve systems of equations by addition. To solve a system of equations by addition, the goal is to cancel one of the variables by adding the equations together. One or both of the equations may need to be multiplied by a number in order to set up a situation in which one of the variables will cancel when the equations are added together.
