Multiplication and Division

Lesson Description

Students combine multiplication and division of integers with absolute value. For example, to simplify - I 9 I x I -4 I, remember that the absolute value of any positive or negative number is positive, so - I 9 I x I -4 I simplifies to -(9) x (4), or -9 x 4. Next, remember that a negative times a positive is a negative, so -9 x 4 = -36.
