Lesson Description - Algebra Evaluate:

This lesson covers the idea of algebra evaluate. Students learn that a variable is a letter that is used to represent any number. For example, in the following expression, x, w, and z are variables: x + 2w - 5z - x^2. Students also learn to evaluate an expression by substituting a number in place of each variable. For example, if p = 4 and q = 7, then p + q = 4 + 7 = 11.
