Understanding Percents

Lesson Description

Students learn that percent means "out of 100", and a ratio that compares a number to 100 can be written as a percent. For example, 37 to 100 can be written as 37%. In the problems in this lesson, students are asked to write a given ratio as a percent, and to write a percent that represents the shaded part of a given figure.
