Pre-Algebra: Lesson 130

Transformations
Rotations

Lesson Description

Students learn that when a figure is turned to a new position, the transformation is called a rotation. Students are then asked to describe a given rotation by estimating the number of degrees and stating the direction that a given figure has been rotated. For example, the figure has been rotated 90 degrees clockwise. Students are also asked to draw rotations of a given figure. For example, rotate the given figure 45 degrees counterclockwise.
