Lesson Description - Modeling Expressions:
This lesson covers the idea of modeling expressions. Students learn that real-world situations can be modeled through expressions that use a variable to represent the unknown value. For example: Charles is 6 years younger than Buddy. If b = Buddy’s age, write an expression for Charles’ age. (Since b represents Buddy’s age, and Charles is 6 years younger than Buddy, then Charles’ age can be represented as b – 6.)
