Lesson Description - Place Value:
This lesson covers the idea of place value. Students learn that decimals are used to name values that are in between whole numbers. For example, the decimal 7.19 is between 7 and 8. Students are asked to determine the place and value of an underlined digit in a given decimal. For example, the digit 7 in the decimal 425.37 has a value of 7 hundredths, which is written as 0.07. Students are also asked to write the decimal represented by a given model. Watch the free video above to learn more about place value.
