Lesson Description

Students learn that the set of integers can be described as the set of whole numbers and their negative counterparts: {...-3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3...}. Students also learn to graph integers on a number line, and use integers to describe a variety of situations. For example, a bank withdrawal of $16 can be represented by the integer -16.
